Alice May Vossen passed away on July 20th.in Marine City Michigan. Alice was born on September 11, 1888 in China Township St. Clair County. She was raised by her parents Emma and Albert Belfour on a farm with eight children. Alice married Arthur Vossen
August 17, 1912.

Alice also held a Social Welfare license for two foster children.
Where she adopted Robert Lee Vossen.
Alice is precided in death by her parents,Emma and Albert Balfour,
Arthur Vossen, Grace Balfour, William Belfour,Thomas Belfour, Raymond Belfour James Belfour, She is surivived by Helen Peters, Laura McMillen. and Alice is also surived by grandchildren
Roberta Ballard son Robert Vossen, Joan Gross, Jean Wells, George Vossen. Also Pat and Marry Williams.
Services were held at L.C. Friederichs and son.Funerial home Rev. Phillip D. Miles officiating. Interment at Belfour Cemetery.
She was loved by everyone and helped many people.
I dreamed a dream that I hoped was not true,

Dear lord before i sleep tonight,

Grandmother
We had a wonderful grandmother,
One who never really grew old;
Her smile was made of sunshine,
And her heart was solid gold;
Her eyes were as bright as shining stars,
And in her cheeks fair roses you see.
We had a wonderful grandmother,
And that' s the way it will always be.
But take heed, because
She's still keeping an eye on all of us,
So let's make sure
She will like what she sees
……….Who She Was
The memories of the past are vague
The hurts are forever and forgiven
What I have today is what there is forever
And those are the memories of all I have to hold on to.
In my mind I remember a face-one of beauty
One with rarely a frown
And almost always a smile
Never a harsh word-just a kind gentle smile
I hear her voice as she says kind words to all who she knew
The words were always soft
And they were who she was
I will forever hear her say “Hi Honey” soft and gentle was her voice
In the air I breathe
I know she is there
To guide and protect all who she loved
I will forever be grateful
I was born through her to love
I am now who she was

My Grand Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave my life it's start.
She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem...
And when the winds and rain came,
she protected me enough--
But not too much because she knew
I'd need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong--
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.

A GOLDEN CANDLE
This poem is all about a golden candle
It's flames flicker oh so bright
And keep burning well until morning light
I light it at night..
And first thing at dawn
This Golden candle is in loving memory of you..
To remember when you were born
For my love i remember it all you see
And this candle will burn bright for eternity
The flames will burn bright
With such warmth and glow
Why God took you my love we will never know
If the wind blows the candle out
Remember my loved one..
Just give me a shout
For this candle for you will stay glowing night and day
And my love for you is here to stay
